"Iris"

With requests, I decided to do "Iris" from Dream House garden.
I will introduce the basics first, then how to paint petals and leaves of Iris. 
We will work on it with Sumi ink then, also use colours to finalise iris artworks. 

Please read through all the information below


Date: Sunday  14th December 2025

Time:12.00-15.00 GMT (3 hour lesson + short breaks in between) 
Please check the time if you join from outside the UK.

Fee: (from 2026, the price will be changed) 
*  7800 yen (online live lesson + Video access for 3 weeks)
*  12,400 yen (Duo ticket for one screen with two participants + Video access for 3 weeks)
*  6900 yen (For those who can not attend the workshop, but want to have access to the video for 3 weeks) 

Please make the payment by 11th Decmber 
Then, I will send you the handouts and the zoom link. Thank you for your cooperation!

- ZOOM link and Handouts will be sent on 12th December
- Recorded video will be ready 5-6 days after the workshop. You can access the video for 3 weeks. This recording is private and access is intended for the recipient only. I will send a confirmation email before sending the link.

< Workshop plan >

Please be prepared 10 minutes before the workshop starts.
1. Greeting & Explanation of the lesson plan
2. Introduction of the basics of brush movements and ink control
3. Introduction of how to paint Iris petals, leaves and stems.
4. (short break time)
5. Layout and order of painting 
6. Creating the artworks: first in Sumi ink then use colours
7. Q & A (extra 10-15 minutes after the workshop finishes)


< Equipment needed for the class >

Please prepare this equipment by yourself before the workshop starts.
1. Two pair of 1 medium or big brush and 1 small brush for Sumi and Colour
2. Ink: black Sumi ink (liquid ink or ink stick and inkstone)
3. Paper, roughly 15 papers
4. Four small plates, one flat bigger plate, (two for sumi ink, two for colour)
5. Cloth (felt): put under the paper.
6. Paperweight (or anything heavy to put on the paper or Washi paper to fix)
7. Water for washing brush (water in a jam jar etc.)
8. Some Kitchen towel or cloth
9. Coloured paints, Ganzai, Chinese paint, or Saienboku
